Even the strollers get washed! Family, friends, and even some strangers, got together to aid the family by quickly putting together a fundraiser. The fundraiser of the day was a local makeshift car wash where vehicles of all sorts could get a thorough washing for a mere 5 dollars. My son and I just so happened to be walking down that street at the right time, that Saturday afternoon, on our way to shop at a local mini market. We first were met with screaming in the streets. I just knew there was a story there. As I anxiously approached the spectacle, I saw that a group of people were carrying signs. Then, I heard what they were screaming, screaming at the top of their lungs, "Car wash, CAR WASH". As I walked away, after donating my 5 dollars without even having a car, "We'll wash your stroller!", was gleefully shouted at me. My son and I innovatively stroll the stroller to help carry the groceries, since we no longer have our Chrysler Towne and Country. The local pizzeria, Mama Mia's Pizza, located at 1950 Santa Fe Ave., Long Beach, CA, 90810, gave out free pizza to the volunteers as well as victims. The car wash was held in the restaurant's parking lot. What a wonderful site to see, this gathering of people to help a young lady and her family. Please donate whatever you can to help this sweet, sincere, and deserving family. Time is of the essence for the family "won't be there long", as told to me by a volunteer as well as the precious daughter, Santa, now that the head of the family is gone. I asked if we had at least a couple of weeks to send the money before the family moves. I was told yes. I talked it to a month. As it stands, they will now "have to" move, due this sad and most frightening family crises.
