School Free Zone

Time zone, period, rather, that is. I took all the necessary steps needed. So, as of today, I have the summer off, from work and school. YES!!! Now, I am able to focus strictly on my health and my kids. I am so appreciative of this opportunity. Thank you to those who helped me get this much needed time off. Sincerely, SDRoads

LAPPL

We are deeply concerned that the city is eyeing the public safety budget in a desperate attempt to solve its financial crisis. Over the past six years, the City of Los Angeles has enjoyed unprecedented crime decreases, due to the hard work of the men and women of the LAPD. However, the LAPD is still understaffed compared to other large cities – reducing the number of officers on the streets would be a serious mistake. Maintaining fully staffed patrols should take precedence over proposed cost-saving measures in the city’s budget planning.

ONLINE PETITION TO
SUPPORT LAPD OFFICERS

YES, I want City Hall to maintain LAPD funding levels. The result of cutting LAPD funding would be a reversal of the lower crime rate trend we have seen over the past several years. Please add my name to the online petition to express my support for fully funding the LAPD.

The Digital Horizon- An Update

Well, I FINALLY receive Fox's 11. Wow, the wonders of technology. I finally get to see my favorite t.v. personality, Jillian Barberie Reynolds... when she gets on screen again. -SD

The End- Au Revoir

The Culmination is about to begin for the Kindergarten and Fifth grade classes. This is very exciting for them. For me too, I saw the rehearsals. It is a stunning site to behold.. and hear. Quite patriotic, as well. Well, that makes sense. I mean, we are The Soaring Eagles. HAPPY GRADUATION KIDS!!!!!!! -SDRoads

A great movie

... is on right now on "this". It is called Woman In The Window. Then, The Outer Limits. Great watchables on a pre-summer night. When is the first day of summer anyway? I am usually the first person to celebrate it, especially here. Oh, by the way, I rescanned. Actually, my friend did. I now do receive channel 13. However, I still don*t receive Fox*s 11. Today is the first day of Summer Session at college. I better get back to bed. *SD

A MESSAGE FROM THE LOS ANGELES POLICE
PROTECTIVE LEAGUE

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Dear S...,

Los Angeles is in a financial crunch and we are afraid that city
leaders are about to make some dangerous budget choices. We hope you
will help us tell City Hall to put Public Safety First by signing our
petition to fully fund the Los Angeles Police Department.

Facing a budget shortage and the possibility of the state "borrowing"
local taxes, the city government is threatening to lay off or furlough
thousands of employees. Just this week the mayor warned that Los
Angeles could lose as many as 1,400 officers if the state raids
additional revenue.

This will result in a reduced police presence in your neighborhood and
increased response times in emergencies.

At the same time, the governor is planning to transfer 23,000
criminals from state prisons to overcrowded county prisons, which will
result in early releases of these inmates – some of whom may be
violent and repeat offenders.

We can't risk the disastrous combination of fewer officers and more
criminals in our communities.

If you live, work or visit Los Angeles, or love someone who does,
please join us in protecting the security of our city. Sign the online
petition urging City Hall to keep public safety as its number-one
priority.
