A Moment Away From Classwork...

Hello everyone. I hope this day finds you all well. I am cramming for my finals week. Haveto get everything done before. Then, I get a glorious 4 week vacation. Phew! I really need it. The doc informed me yesterday I may have a kidney stone. Aye yi yi. I won't be reporting on anything for a time, but, I at least want to mention something that was news worthy that had occurred here. The sonic boom that hit the other day, really confused some people. Not to toot my own horn, but, I was the only one that figured out it was a sonic boom. Though, I must admit, it did take me a bit. LoL Most thought it was an earthquake. I said, "Nah, too short." You should have seen the look on my and Key's face, when it hit. Our youngest was in the living room with us. He was happily coloring. It made me think of that picture I posted here of a sonic boom. It is probably 6 pages in... more like 10. Haha But on a more serious note, it also made me think of the next major earthquake and what we need to do to protect all of ourselves. My father came up with a terrific idea, one I may employ. Well, back to school work for me, in a few, after I quickly finish updating my site. I have to change the holiday greeting on the side bar, as well as post a post (LoL) I had pretyped last week for this week. I just knew I was gonna be busy. Bye for now, or au revoir. ~SDRoads

For Me, As A Writer...

Last Wednesday, the day before the Thanksgiving Holidays, while at the committee meeting I am a member of, C.E.A.C., a guest speaker came to speak with us about writing and how to help our children to write. I stopped taking notes, as I have to, due to the fact I am the Assistant Secretary. The Secretary is new, and needed my assistance. I like to take notes, I don't mind, but at this particular time, I enjoyed stopping what I was doing in order to participate in the given writing activity by our guest speaker. This is what I wrote:

For me, as a writer, writing is a form of expression. It is a beautiful way to communicate, why, just about anything, no, most definitely, anything and everything. One can write about any given topic, and here, in America, we are blessed to have the freedom to write, as well as read, about anything in, or out of, for that matter, this world. Such topics one can express include, but are not limited to, feelings ,the news, the future, poetry, etc. How wonderful that is! I love writing for my news center that I created. Writing is a form of freedom. I will teach my children how to utilize and enjoy that given freedom to the best of their abilities. Thank you, SDRoads
