I tried catching the entire Snow Day commercial...

so that I could give you more information. However, I only caught part of it. A quick update: Santa Anita Park, this Sunday, gates open at 10:30 a.m., as I recall, and the first race? About 2 hours later. Remember, given the carnivalesque atmosphere, the ice rink, and face painting, not to mention the place-your-bets pony action, there will be fun for all. *SD

A Heroic Act

A truck driver saves many from certain danger by driving his truck that had caught fire away from a crowded truck stop. The footage was unbelievable, and touching. *SDRoads, REPORTING (But, the hiatus is not over. LoL)

Our prayers are with Ed McMahon and his family tonight.

He is on the brink. He seems like such a nice man. *SDRoads and family

Wow. The miracles never cease.

Ty to God. *SD ...

Oh my gosh. It*s freezing!

Walking down this main boulevard, back from the doctor office, I am so cold. And, I am holding back tears, harder than the wind is holding them at bay. The doc said he is going to send me to the GI specialist. He quickly, and almost unintelligibly, as most doctors speak, and write, for that matter, stated what he will have ordered, as he made notes. Among the garbled noise, I detected something straight away. I heard the dreaded word, laparoscopy. I escaped it before, on a hunch that a previous doc was wrong many years ago. I was correct. You see, he had told me and my first husband I may not be able to have kids. Well, we decided to not have the lap, and I was pregnant with Joe, a.k.a. Pookie, the very next month. But this, I may not be able to escape this. Not this time. But, maybe. I*ve been studying up on these types of things, since I swelled up again, with pains. I checked out books from the campus library, and Googled a lot. I think you have to be put TO SLEEP for that. Oh no! Let*s see, colposcopy last year.... That was easy. There is a ready made hole for that one! But, not with the laparoscopy. Oh no. Oh God. This isn*t good. *SD

You know, SpringTime will be here soon.

As well as Easter, not to mention Summer. I would like to not be in pain, or sick, for these special times and seasons. I vow to do everything I can to get well. *SDRoads

This seems to be changing.

This is, in part, a Tribute To Marilyn Monroe. Here is a beautiful and rare picture found at www.55max.com. -SD

In honor of Marilyn~

Thinking of her strength and kindness. I mentioned below that I want to emulate that strength. I have become a bit weak these days. This picture is dedicated to her. It is a photo of me, now entitled, Norma Jeane~ The Essence. It had been entitled "Norma Jean~ Pure. -SD

Great. More medicine.

Here we go again. Hopefully, this new grouping of medication works. I also hope the GI doctor I will see will help figure this out and supply the cure. I sent a message a long like this already. I couldn*t get into my site to verify it arrived. Plus, I could not find it in outgoing mail in either e~mail account. Weird. I thought perhaps I tried Ymail again. This new technology we have has lots of problems and malfunctions, including the new HDTV. Just like my body has. Perhaps Technology should come with me to the GI doc. LoL *SD Goodnight to all.

Uuuggh!

All those misspellings (That word is not in me dictionary. Hmmm.) and mishaps in text~typing at me posts. I*ll have to edit them tomorrow. That*s if I can find time tomorrow. I hope I can. *SD

They*re looking at Appendicitis for me.

I have to go to a GI specialist. If they*re right, it would explain somethings. But, I hope they*re wrong, for that would require surgery. My worst fear. I have trouble waking back up from the sleep they put me in. Please God, no. Not appendicitis. Not surgery. It is, may be, more than I can bare. The only comfort I have, is to know I*d be following in the footsteps of the great Marilyn Monroe. You can see her scar in some of her pictures. If that were to happen to me, I*d be late to the surgery table, and think of Marilyn*s strength... and emulate it. *SDRoads

Hi. I*m about to go to the hospital.

What*s happening is umbearable. I woke, and could not lay back down without great pain and complication. Thank God, I have wonderful neighbors. They are a small family. Shanathan plays with the little girl. They are watching him, will take him to school, pick him up, and feed him. My friend and churchgoer is taking me to hospital. Gink, my phone may not work in there, if you call. *SD

Tuesday 24 February 2009

At least I read a sentence or two.

And how informative that was, seriously. I again feel compelled, this time to write this post. Oh, apparently, it*s Mardi Gras. Did I spell that right? Well, Happy however~to~spell~ that Day! I like to touch on all holidays, here. Also, this Sunday is another SNOW DAY at Santa Anita Park. Again, there will be a carnival like essense there, complete with face painting as well as ice skating. Feeling lucky on the ponies? Go down there and I~hate~the~expression kill 2 birds with one stone. Have extra fun with the family as you place your bets. Is that legal? For me to suggest gambling? Haha Jk Details on SNOW DAY, later. Interesting timing, that SNOW DAY, after my post here of how our snow capped mountains melted. The snow did, anyway. LoL And the beautiful mountains of Colorado were just on t.v., in a Nature Valley Granola Bar commercial. I grew up on those things. Yep, my parents hardly ever bought the Hostess Cupcakes and Twinkies, as most of the other parents did. At the time, I must admit, I felt a little deprived. But, now that I am grown, with little ones of my own, I DO THE VERY SAME THING! :) Yep, the dreaded hard granola bars are what I buy. And, the same flavor, at that! LoL I actually think they taste good these days! And me sun, I mean son, yes, my little ball of sunshine, adorably thinks they are candy bars because of the pretty and shiney metallic wrappers. He coyly asked me one day, "Mommy, may I have a candy bar?", thinking he was going to get away with something. You see, he already had candy that day. I asked, "What candy, honey?". He went to the cabinet, pulled out a granola bar, and said, "This one." I said, "Yes, baby, you can have one.", and just winked at my friend that was visiting. To switch notes: Hey, guess what! I think my new medicine is working. YaaY! But the key phrase is, "I think". Excuse me while I switch thumbs. Text typing on this thing hurts after a while. LapTop, here I come. I will rescue you from the store, in all your pink splendor. Splendor. Reminds me of Splenda. (Add tie in details here. LoL) I have been reading and studying technical health and nutrition books lately. Stay away from artificial sweetners. They are like poison. And one of the horror stories I read about happened to one of my West Coast cousins. Well, I had more to write, and more points to make, but, I*m beginning to doze off. Better set the alarm, fast. Good night all. *SD

Awh shucks!

I missed the President speak today. You know, that speech I reported
on. I was, am, very ill this day. Oh well, at least I could see part
of it in the NEWS. LoL Please say a prayer for me to get better. The
pain I am in is great. I don*t know how I do all that I do. I don*t
know how I am able to get things done like this. I used an ice pack on
one of the places that hurt, through my pajama top tee. It just seemed
to burn more. But, I think it may have helped the swelling a bit. I
wonder how Gink is. How are you, Gink? I know you will answer here.
And, you got my number. Call anytime. Call especially if YOU hurt. You
are a true friend. I am glad I had met you and yours through John*s
site. I wonder what has become of his old site, as of late. I haven*t
been there in a long time, after seeing it had been taken over. I also
wonder how Ginnger is doing. I hope you all are well. Everyone who
reads here. I am going to read a bit, some health books, as well as my
book club, Reading Club, rather, book while the news is on. Then relax
with The Simpsons. A really, really sad story was just m the news. It
was about a mother who killed her baby, and the horror and grief that
struck the family. Actually, shock is still set in. Horror may follow
suit. But grief is there, alongside grief. I saw it in the man*s eyes.
And, he was lost. Please pray for that family. Oh God, let them be
comforted, just as you comforted me and mine through tragedy and
horror. I know I am on hiatus from doing the news, but, that I just
felt compelled to share. Stay safe. *SDRoads

Stay Tuned

... for my upcoming story entitled, "Full Circle~ My Journey On The
Road To Recovery". It is a story of my goal of becoming physically
healthy once more. It is still being written, and will be shared here
in parts. Thanxx for stopping by. *SD

I just noticed that the days are beginning to get longer.

Spring will be here soon. *SD

LoL

Now, the heater is on. *SD

The Walk Home

Now, it is really starting to look like we are in California. The
mountains are no longer snow capped, but are covered with haze. Ahh.
Good ole California. LoL The ac goes on. *SD

Gotta jett. -SD

Well, last week I was chosen as Team Captain for my class.

We are suppossed to be switching off, but, I think I am still it. Aye yi yi. LoL -SD

Hey guys.

I'm in the lab now. We just got an announcement that there are a ton of scholarships that are going to go to pot because no one has been applying. "Go to Administration room 100, pick up the paperwork, and start hammering it out.", says the coach. He further stated, "That's a loooot of money." That's for all of our local students in this school. You know who you are. However, I'm sure it applies across the board. -SD

Ahahaha

Doesn't this just remind you of that Loving Cup Lucy got stuck on her head? LoL It's just a bit smaller than the too small one she wrestled with. -SD

Hmm. Yet another great line!

I have been reading the book on and off this evening, betwixt taking care of other responsibilities and daily rituals of a chore~like nature. The line is on page 46, within the segment entitled, "Cincinnati". However, there have been many notable expressed thoughts. *SD

Ahaha

LoL A real funny, and near charming, and I do mean near, line in the first book chosen for the new Reading Club here. The witty line can be found on page 14. Find it. giggle And wait till you get a load of the name of the new group! LoL I look forward to the end of month meetings for the Reading Club at Starbucks. However, I have just decided that the club meetings shall be held at The Holiday Inn in Burbank, California. The club members will meet in the beautiful Carousal Restaurant, just down the hall from the stunning yet quaint, spacious yet cozy, fireplace yielding lobby. Hope to see you there. You know, taking time to read is like visiting Heaven. *SDRoads

Just saw a hillarious comedy stint on TALKSHOW with Spike Ferensten, on Fox*s 11.

Ha!

Well, at least my Yahoo WAS running smoothly for a bit there.

That makes it easier for me to send posts here, without a traditional computer. I am on the verge of getting a new suped up laptop, in PINK. Speaking, writing, rather, of color, the Red Carpet, of Hollywood fame, may be getting wet due to the predicted rains, in the upcoming Hollywood event. That event is Oscar Night. Hmmm. I remember when I was invited to walk the Red Carpet. *SDRoads

O.k. Here we go again with the news.

I just can*t seem to stay away from it. Haha O.k. So, income taxes are going down and will be affecting paychecks this coming April. Also, the President*s State of the Union Address will be this Tuesday, at 6 p.m., PST. Important stuff. *SD

Though on hiatus...

I would like to mention there is newfound interest, evidence, and a suspect in the Chandra Levy case, after all these years. If you missed it, contact your local news sources, or try a Google search. *SD

Well, I started reading the book for the new reading club last night.

But, it was rather late when I started. I found it to be a book full of personality and charm, laced with important data and theories, thus far. I know the data aspect will become a larger aspect, of course, given the title. I had a good feeling about the book, and don*t think it will let me down. My gut instinct had kicked in. LoL I read it long enough to come up with a suggestion. I highly suggest that you start with, obviously, the front cover, then shift to the back cover, then to the front inside flap, but, then, onto the ENDNOTE, found on page 312, then continue on to the Acknowledgements, Preface, Chapter 1, and so on. I am looking into how much of a current supply there is of the book, and where to find them. I started that late this afternoon, at a bookshop in Burbank, California. *SD

I will tell you about the weather story later. Out of time now. It is an interesting little blurb about the clouds and winds we had locally, the other day. -SD

Here is the announcement early, regarding our Reading Club.

Welcome to our new Book Club. Any one wanting to join in, the deadline is Friday, February 27th, at 2 p.m. PST. Please contact me at SDRoads@gmail.com to sign up, if interested. The Book Club will contain perks and surprises. Our first book will be The Second Brain~ The Scientific Basis of Gut Instinct, by Michael D. Gershon, M.D. I have flipped through it, and found this book to be insightful, interesting, helpful, and amazing on so many different levels. I can't wait to read it. It is our chosen book for the month of March. At the end of March, there will be a get-to-gether for all the locals whom have joined the club, at a Starbucks. Join us for coffee and frank discussion. Share your thoughts and ideas. Announcements on the date and time for the get-to-gether will be made at a later date. I'm looking forward to it. Be with you all, here, later. Gotta jett. -SD

Post below continued here:

I have lots of exciting projects planned for me and anyone who wants to join in. I*ve been wanting, for the last couple of days, to write something about the local weather. I will when I*m not so sleepy. Then, I will officially start the hiatus. *SD Yawn

Before The Hiatus

Hi y*all. Before I start the hiatus for news and weather, officially, I will write up this post. There HAVE been a few things I have just been itchin to report. But I resisted. Just bein` lazy I guess. So, I will go on hiatus, with respect to news and weather. I will be doing other things here, like focusing on other projects. Besides, that*s all I am going to be doing, is writing, for my classes this term. Don*t want to get overloaded. ... *SD ...

Hi

It's a bit of a lazy day for me, though, I have been getting a lot of things done. I just don't feel much like reporting on the news or weather at this time, or even family news. I just felt like working on my other projects today. After my committee meeting, where I was the only head that showed up, I had the rest of the day free, to do as I want, until it is time to go pick up me Shanathan. ... And, it is almost that time. : ) -SD

Tonight, a night of dancing! *SD

The Muse~ic

Just sittin` here at McDonalds, again, while Shanathan plays, in the
restaurant play yard, and I sip ever~so~slowly on me decaf. We had
already eaten dinner. I*m relaxin to the oldies they always play here,
the real oldies, the classics. The 40s and 50s stuff. The kind of
music Marilyn Monroe would have listened to, that they play just loud
enough to catch a lyric or two through the hum like noise the crowd of
the hour makes in the dinning hall. I took me Lorazepam today. Yeah,
I*m upto one a day now, though, on occassion, my body requires two.
Twoday was one of those days. Catch that pun? LoL I am experiencing
difficult times, though, not financially, like most of my American
counterparts. I mean, this has got to be the absolute toughest time of
my life, of my entire existance. Everyone and every thing pulling me
in opposite directions, making me weaker and more and more broken with
each pull, much like a rubber band gets when continuously, and
unnecessarilly, pulled. I feel like a caged PushmiPullu. But, I stand
strong. I will be o.k. Things will be o.k. I stand strong in me new
wicked boots that me dad got me for Valentine*s Day. They are really
rain boots I needed so desperately in the recent weather. But, they
are so hott, I*m wearing them now, even before the rain comes back.
And it*ll be back soon, very soon. They are like a welcome massage to
my ankles and calves, not to mention my feet, and I wont. And, they
are keeping me warm, in this chilly eating arena. I*ve decided I will
doll them up now and then with my new leg warmers. The warmers sparkle
and have buttons and everything. So, I stand strong in me black boots
and in heart, and spirit. I know my soul won*t let me down. *SD ...
P.S. `Wicked` doesn*t really mean wicked in fashion. Just thought I*d
clarify. LoL

I feel like an injured eagle.

I*m at church now. *SD

HAPPY VALENTINE*S DAY EVERYONE!!

We hope you have a day full of love and cheer. Oh, and good news! We
didn*t miss that Charlie Brown Special afterall, unless it*s an encore
presentation for the holiday. The Peanuts Gang Valentine*s cartoon
will be on tonight, on ABC*s channel 7, at 8 p.m.\7 central. Have a
fun day. I*m going to go to lunch with my parents. The kids will love
the restaurant. It is full of balloons and heart shaped decorations.
We hope you get lots and lots of Valentines. ;) Love, SD and Family

Friday 13 February 2009

Happy Valentine*s Eve everyone!

I am in the waiting room at the doctor*s office. I am lucky. They have 2 Avon Catalogs to look at while waiting. I just love Avon! There are two doctors here, one female, one male. You always get the choice of whom to see. I have Valentine*s of a box of chocolate for each, gender appropriate picture on the heart shaped boxes, of flowers and on the other, basketball. There is often chaos here. I chose that word over `excitment`. There*s always either someone passing out and falling into glass partition walls, or someone having a heart attack, or just people concerened and\or complaining about the wait. I started to feel they may think I*m the jinks. LoL Today, less drama. I gave a little boy an extra box of chocolates, with his mom*s permission. He smiled. I have Shanathan*s heart shaped box of chocolates in the bag, too. It is of Snoopy and WoodStock. Have a happy day, y*all. *SD

All Snug As A Bug In A Rug

It was so cute. Shanathan got to fill out Valentines for the kids in his class. And I got to help him. The funny thing is, Antonio ended up with three. LoL I wonder if the class will have a Valentine*s Day party or cookies. We*ll see. Good night. *SD

Thursday 12 February 2009

Dear God

£I want to do what you want and more. But before I walk through that
door, to carry out your master plan, please, please hold my hand. And
make my body strong, so I can carry on, and do everything you want me
to do, and be that blessing for you. For y~o~ou. Aahw For y~o~ou. For
you. A~a~a~a men.£ A song in part, by me, just now, inspired by that
Beyonce song. *SDRoads

Following Suit

Immediately following that program, an awards show had come on. I got to listen to a beautiful song, before Shanathan came home from an afternoon of play with friends, and took over the tele for cartoon time. I was able to hear, as I continued cleaning, a somewhat whimsical, yet almost holy, song being crooned by Beyonce. Again, I was stopped d€ad in me tracks. Both programs were aired in celebration of Black History. I was once more blessed. *SDRoads

The Witness

I am witnessing the most amazing program on a channel I don*t normally have on, the PBS Station. Fortunately, I can receive it now because of my new HDTV. And, it is not malfunctioning this time. It involves the lifestory of Oprah Winfrey. I feel really blessed for it. "Racism was about economics.", the program states. I often keep the t.v. on in the backround as I do my housework. I am happy I was possessed to turn the channel. The show has stopped me d€ad in my tracks. *SDRoads

The Cold Factor

Just leavin` my campus to go pick up Shanathan from school. It*s frickin cold out here, eh. But, it sure is sparkling clear, too. Yet, the clouds are white and grey. *SD

Stay tuned for some hillarious quotes from our teach.

It will be done respectively, of course. She even laughed. Good thing I can write fast. LoL -SD
