The Black Heart

Sometimes I admire a person, or persons, so much. Only to learn that, in time, their true colors come out. And most people know that the color black is the presence of all color. Hence the reason for the next couple a statements. Black is not the deep void full of emptiness some perceive it to be. Black is the presence of many things, too many things, the good, the bad, and the ugly. In time, you learn that a few of those you truly admired appear to have black hearts. Hearts darkened with hatred, suspicion, unpleasantness, rudeness, selfishness, and the hope others will fall, along with the ever so deep loneliness that the owner of the darkened heart tries so desperately to hide, at all cost, with unlimited expense to others, potentially. At the end of the day you feel a certain desolateness and depletion just knowing them. My advice would be, get to know the person before you bestow that admiration upon them. Even though, God loves a cheerful giver and respecter of persons, those who have the pure heart of a child and give that unconditional admiration with wonderment and a touch of humble wisdom. Alleluia for that. Just be careful in picking whom you aim that affection on. I know it*s sooo easy to give out that admiration straight away, and perhaps spontaneously. Just make sure you think it through, first. And don*t kick yourself, or feel bad, if you do get burned. Remember, you have a good heart... and you are human. And that is my advice. *SDRoads
